NAMING CEREMONY
The Naming Ceremony: This ceremony is near and dear to us and to many who experienced in the past. During this ceremony, you gain your native tribal name in accordance with Ghana traditions. It is a powerful moment because over the years we’ve lost many of our ancestral ways including our names. The naming ceremony connects us back to the continent and that community and tribe forever.

ENSLAVE RIVER + 1 more
ENSLAVE RIVER — We begin our journey at the Slave River, where enslaved Africans were forced to take their final bath before being marched to the slave castles. After honoring their memory, we travel to one of Ghana’s most historic towns—home to Elmina Castle, the oldest European structure in Sub-Saharan Africa. Standing inside this 537-year-old fortress, we uncover the colonial exploitation that shaped the once-golden shores of the Gold Coast.

The highlight: the 350-meter canopy walkway of eight suspended bridges rising 40 meters above the forest floor—the first of its kind in Africa and the perfect place to conquer any fear of heights. We then continue to Cape Coast to explore its historic slave castle, one of over 40 fortresses where captured Africans were held before their forced journey to the New World.
